My Thoughts:
 
This painting's reference was a couple of my own photos when we took a trip to the Rocks one morning. We arrived just before 5am. The sun was still under the horizon, but there was a bit of light low in the sky. The tide was out but the ground was still wet and in places, muddy. I quickly scouted around for a place to set up our tripods and cameras that would give me a good composition. A few minutes later, the sun started rising and what a breathtaking morning it was.
 
I used 2 of my photos from that morning as inspiration for this painting. I like to combine photos to make a scene come alive or more interesting. This painting makes me think of that beautiful morning at the Rocks and what I felt that day. Nature holds such beauty to display when we take the time to see it.
