My Thoughts:
 
This painting was influenced by my own reference photo I took while on a local marsh. One evening during sunset, a very large cluster of clouds opposite the sunset lit up with shades of pink, peach, red, purple, blue, and yellow. It was an amazing site to see, just this one formation, seemingly standing still and floating over a farmers field, lit up in all it's glory. 
 
This painting makes me think of that evening when everything seemed to stand still in those moments, and the world just faded away. The title "Embracing The Calm" was chosen for the feeling I felt while I was there.
